Gujarat Circle GDS Recruitment 2026 — Key Highlight
The Gujarat Postal Circle (covering Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu) is included in this GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 notification.
The prescribed local language for Gujarat Circle candidates is Gujarati — applicants must have studied Gujarati at least up to the 10th standard from a recognized board to be eligible for GDS posts in the Gujarat Circle.
Candidates applying under the Gujarat Circle will need to select their preferred Division within Gujarat on the portal, after which eligible posts (BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak) within that Division will be displayed based on community, age, and language eligibility.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Job Profile
1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)
Day-to-day postal operations of the Branch Post Office (B.O.) and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB).
Marketing/promotion of Department products and services, operating Customer Service Centres (CSC).
In single-handed BOs, overall responsibility for smooth functioning including mail conveyance and delivery.
Must arrange accommodation for the Branch Post Office at own cost and reside in the post village.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
Sale of stamps/stationery, conveyance and door-step delivery of mail, IPPB transactions.
Assists BPM in postal operations and marketing activities.
Must reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the concerned Post Office (BO).
3. Dak Sevak
Engaged in Post Offices, Sorting Offices, Mail Offices, Transit Mail Offices, or Delivery Centres.
Duties include sale of stamps/stationery, mail handling, IPPB transactions, and assisting the Postmaster.
Must reside within the delivery jurisdiction of the attached Post Office (HO/SO).

2. Educational Qualification

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection is based on a system-generated Merit List prepared using marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination (Class 10), converted to percentage (up to 4 decimal accuracy).
Where only Grades/Points are given, marks are calculated using a multiplication factor of 9.5.
No examination or interview is conducted — selection is purely on 10th standard marks/merit.
In case of a tie, priority is given based on Date of Birth (older first) followed by category/gender order as specified in the notification.
Shortlisted candidates must report for physical verification of documents within 15 days of shortlisting, and complete pre-engagement formalities (including 3-day basic training) within 30 days of the offer.
India Post GDS Recruitment 2026: How to Apply, Step by Step
Part A – One-Time Registration (OTR): Click “Candidate Login/Register”, then “New Candidate Registration”. Enter your active mobile number and email ID (each verified via OTP) — these cannot be changed later.
Fill in Personal Details (Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Father’s/Guardian’s Name, Mother’s Name, Community, etc.) exactly as per your Class 10 marksheet.
On successful registration, note your Registration Number — it will also be sent via SMS/Email.
Part B – Online Application: Log in using your Registration Number and password (received via SMS). Click “Apply Online” under the “Active Notification” tab.
Fill in Board/Educational Details — select your Circle, Board name, passing year, and subject-wise marks/grades from your Class 10 marksheet.
Select your preferred Division (e.g., a Division under Gujarat Circle) and give post preferences among the eligible BPM/ABPM/Dak Sevak posts shown, based on your community, age, PwBD status, and local language.
Upload your recent Photograph (JPG, 30–100 KB, 320×400 px, 4:5 ratio) and Signature (JPG, 20–100 KB, 300×120 px, 5:2 ratio) as per the prescribed format.

India Post GDS Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
Only one registration per candidate is allowed; duplicate/multiple applications will lead to cancellation of candidature.
An applicant can apply for posts in only one selected Division; if shortlisted for more than one preferred post, only the highest-preference post will be offered, and candidature for all other posts will be forfeited.
The Department does not make phone calls to applicants — beware of fraudulent calls; all official communication is via SMS/Email or the Engaging Authority only.
Candidates dismissed/removed/compulsorily retired from Government service/GDS in the past as a penalty are barred from applying.
Marksheets may be verified via DigiLocker/API Setu; candidates are advised to keep a DigiLocker account with relevant documents ready.
Applications with blurred/illegible photographs or signatures will be rejected.
The notification is available in English and Hindi; in case of dispute, the English version prevails.
The process of engagement (including supplementary lists) will close by 31.12.2026, subject to the Department’s discretion to extend.
