GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026: The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has released an official notification inviting online applications for the Helper post on a fixed five-year contractual basis. A total of 2,510 vacancies are available across General, EWS, SEBC, SC, and ST categories. Candidates with a relevant ITI qualification, aged between 18 and 35 years, can apply online via the OJAS Gujarat portal from 07/09/2026 to 06/10/2026.
GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026 Salary and Pay Scale
Fixed Pay: Rs. 21,100/- per month for a period of five years, on a contract basis.
No allowances or benefits other than those admissible under rules will be payable during the fixed-pay contract period.
On satisfactory completion of five years of service, selected candidates will become eligible for regular appointment in the Helper cadre at the basic pay prevailing in the Corporation at that time.
2. Minimum Educational Qualification for GSRTC Helper
Government-recognized ITI pass (minimum one-year course) in any of the following trades: Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Mechanic Diesel, General Mechanic, Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Sheet Metal Worker, Automobile Body Repairer, Welder, Welder cum Fabricator, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter General, or Automobile Paint Repairer.
3. Additional Qualification for Preference in GSRTC Helper Recruitment
Candidates who have completed Apprenticeship in the same trade as their minimum ITI qualification — at a Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertaking or any Limited/Private Limited company — and hold an NCVT (National Council for Vocational Training) certificate and mark sheet for the same, will receive preference weightage.
Note: Apprenticeship completed in a trade different from the ITI qualification trade (e.g., ITI in Electrician but Apprenticeship in Lineman/Wireman) will NOT be considered eligible for the additional preference weightage.

5. Computer Knowledge Requirement
Candidates must hold a certificate/mark sheet of basic computer knowledge as per the syllabus fixed under Gujarat Government GAD Resolution No. CRR-10-2007-120320-G-5 dated 13/08/2008, OR a Diploma/Degree/Certificate course in computer knowledge from a recognized university/institution, OR should have passed Std. 10 or Std. 12 with Computer as a subject.

A merit list will be prepared based on total weightage obtained, considering the reserved/unreserved vacancies mentioned in the notification.
Candidates will be called for document verification in a ratio of approximately 1.5 candidates per vacancy (or as per Corporation requirement).
The 10-mark apprenticeship weightage will be given only if the candidate produces the ITI-trade apprenticeship certificate at the time of document verification.

Click “Apply Now” to open the application format. Fill in the Personal Details first (fields marked with a red asterisk * are mandatory).
After Personal Details, click “Educational Qualification” to fill in your Minimum Educational Details.
Click “Additional Educational Qualification” to enter details of extra/preferred qualifications (e.g., Apprenticeship). If eligible for multiple qualifications, select only the one most beneficial to you, as this cannot be changed later.
Click “Computer Knowledge” to fill in your computer qualification details.
Click “Self Declaration”, then click “Yes” to accept the terms and conditions.
Click “Save” — your application will be accepted online, and an Application Number will be generated. Save this number safely.
Click “Upload Photograph”. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, then click OK. Upload your Photo (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and Signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width), both in JPG format, not exceeding 10 KB each.
Click “Confirm Application” at the top of the page. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, then click OK. Use “Show Application Preview” to review your form and edit if needed, or click “Confirm Application” to submit finally (confirmation is mandatory). A “Confirmation Number” will be generated — save it, as it is required for all further steps.
Click “Online Payment of Fees”. Enter your Confirmation Number and Date of Birth, then pay the required processing fee via the Online Payment Gateway. This step applies to all categories, including Divyang and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
Click “Print Application”. Enter your Confirmation Number and Date of Birth, then click the Print button to save a printout of your application for your records.
Must submit a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate obtained between 01/04/2024 and 06/10/2026 (as per prescribed format), or an equivalent Central Government Annexure-A certificate obtained between 01/04/2026 and 06/10/2026.
Married women applicants must submit the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate based on their parents’ income, not their husband’s income.
EWS Candidates
Must submit an EWS certificate (Annexure KH / Parishisht-G format) obtained between 07/10/2023 and 06/10/2026, or an Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2025-26 obtained between 01/04/2026 and 06/10/2026.
Ex-Servicemen Candidates
Must have served a minimum of six months in the Navy/Air Force/Army and hold a valid Discharge Book and identity card.
Eligible for upper age relaxation equal to the period of service rendered, plus 3 years, subject to a maximum age of 45 years.
Ex-servicemen retiring within one year of the last date of application may also apply, subject to producing an NOC from the competent authority at document verification.
Selected Ex-servicemen candidates will be adjusted against their respective category (General/EWS/SC/ST/SEBC).
Divyang (PwD) Candidates
1% reservation each is provided for Category A (Blindness & Low Vision), Category B (Deaf & Hard of Hearing), Category C (Locomotor Disability, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims, Muscular Dystrophy), and Category D&E (Autism, Intellectual Disability, Specific Learning Disability, Mental Illness, and Multiple Disabilities) — 13 vacancies reserved under each category.
A valid disability certificate issued by the Civil Surgeon/Medical Board as on the date of online application is mandatory.
Candidates with 40% or more visual disability, or those unable to write, may request a scribe facility at the time of application; requests made later will not be considered.
Widow Candidates
Widow women candidates will receive an additional 5% marks (on marks obtained in the MCQ exam) for selection priority, provided they have not remarried at the time of appointment.
A certificate of widowhood, husband’s death certificate, and a non-remarriage affidavit must be submitted at document verification.
Sportsperson Candidates
Candidates who have represented at (i) National/International, (ii) Inter-University, or (iii) All India School Federation level in specified sports (Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Swimming, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Boxing, Cycling, Gymnastics, Judo, Rifle Shooting, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Archery, Equestrian, Shot Put, Rowing, Chess, Handball) will receive an additional 5% marks on their MCQ exam score.
A valid participation certificate from the competent authority must be submitted at document verification; otherwise, the 5% weightage will not be granted.
Women Candidates
Women candidates who have shown their husband’s name instead of their father’s name in the application must submit a Marriage Certificate/Affidavit (notarized)/Gazette at the time of document verification.
If suitable women candidates are not available for reserved vacancies, those vacancies may be allotted to male candidates of the same category.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) Requirement
Government/Semi-Government employees or those working in Corporations/Companies must inform their department within 7 days of applying and obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC), to be submitted at document verification.
GSRTC Helper Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions
The Corporation reserves the unrestricted right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies mentioned in this notification.
Candidates must upload only their own photo and signature; failure to do so will lead to rejection of the application.
If a candidate submits multiple applications with the fee paid, only the last (final) submitted application will be considered valid.
All original certificates related to educational qualification, age, caste, experience, etc., must be kept safely by the candidate and produced when demanded.
Date of Birth will be accepted only as per the SSC Board Certificate or School Leaving Certificate; a birth certificate/affidavit for DOB will not be accepted.
Any spelling mismatch in name/surname compared to certificates requires submission of an affidavit or government gazette copy at document verification.
Candidates must carry a valid Photo ID proof (Election Card/EPIC, Driving License, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, or other government-authorized ID) to the exam and reporting venue.
Original call letters must be carried to the exam venue and produced at document verification.
Candidates are prohibited from carrying handwritten/printed material, calculators, mobile phones, smartwatches, earphones, or any electronic devices into the exam hall; violation leads to disqualification.
A category-wise Waiting List will be prepared within a 20% limit of vacancies, valid for two years from publication or until the next recruitment exam result is declared, whichever is earlier.
No RTI application seeking information about the recruitment process will be entertained until the entire process is complete.
The jurisdiction for any legal matters related to this recruitment will be Ahmedabad.
Providing false or concealed information at any stage will lead to automatic cancellation of candidature, even after selection or appointment, and legal action may be initiated against the candidate.
