On deputation, the pay is as per the pay scale of the parent organisation. On contract, the gross salary includes basic salary and special allowance, with an annual increment of 5% on the basic salary. No other perks are admissible except TA/DA for official duties.
Graduate degree in Electrical/Power Engineering, or Post Graduate in Management (Finance). Those with a Post Graduate degree in engineering, MBA (Finance) or wide administrative experience are preferred.

Post Graduate degree in Law, preferably with exposure to regulatory work.
15 years as a practising advocate in district and higher courts, or 15 years in legal matters in a Judicial/Quasi-Judicial Government organisation, PSU or reputed organisation, preferably in the Power Sector.

Account Officer
Post Graduate/Graduate in Commerce.
Working as Accounts Officer/Account Manager in PSUs/State Government, with knowledge of the double entry account system.

GERC Recruitment 2026 – Tenure and Leave Rules
Deputation: initial period of 2 years, which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance, continued requirement and approval of the Commission. Leave as per the parent organisation.
Contract: initial period of 2 years, which may be extended. A contract appointment does not give any right to regular appointment, absorption or regularisation in GERC.
Leave on contract: 12 days Casual Leave per year plus 15 days Special Leave per year for emergencies. Unused Special Leave can be carried forward up to a maximum of 30 days.

Important Instructions
Candidates on deputation working in PSUs/Government departments must apply through proper channel.
The department should forward only eligible applications after verification, and only if the officer can be spared if selected.
Attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last five years, a disciplinary/vigilance clearance certificate and an NOC must be enclosed while forwarding.
