ITBP Constable Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF) has invited online applications from meritorious male and female sportspersons for the post of Constable (General Duty) under Sports Quota, with a total of 126 vacancies (72 male and 54 female) across 28 sports disciplines. Candidates who have passed Matriculation (10th) and have participated in or won medals in recognized competitions between 01/01/2024 and 01/11/2026 can apply online at recruitment.itbpolice.nic.in from 03/10/2026 to 01/11/2026.
Event-wise and weight-category-wise vacancies (for example in Athletics, Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo and Weightlifting) are given in the official notification PDF.
Vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease. If suitable candidates are not found in any discipline, ITBPF can transfer those vacancies to other advertised disciplines.
The recruitment is only for meritorious sportspersons who have won medals/positions or participated in the listed competitions.
Pay Scale & Allowances
Pay Scale: Level-3, ₹21,700 to ₹69,100/- as per 7th CPC pay matrix.
Other Allowances: Dearness Allowance, Ration Money, Washing Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance in specified border areas, free uniform, free accommodation or HRA, Transport Allowance, free leave pass, free medical facilities, and other allowances admissible in the Force.
Pension: As per the New Restructured Defined Contributory Pension Scheme applicable to new entrants.
Only the date of birth recorded in the Matriculation or Higher Secondary certificate is accepted.

2. Educational Qualification
Matriculation (10th pass) or its equivalent from a recognized board.
3. Sports Qualification
Candidates who have participated in or won medal(s) at the competitions listed below, between 01/01/2024 and 01/11/2026, are eligible.
For National, Inter-University and Khelo India levels, candidates must have won medals/positions up to 3rd place.
Marks are awarded for only the one highest medal or level of participation. The minimum qualifying marks are 10 for all categories.
A copy of the certificate in support of the highest medal/position must be uploaded on the ITBPF recruitment website profile before applying, otherwise the application is rejected during scrutiny.

Eyesight: Distance vision 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction (no glasses or lenses), near vision N6 and N9, and no colour blindness.
Medical: Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose veins or squint, and must be in good mental and bodily health.
Relaxations: Height and chest relaxations are available for ST candidates, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas, candidates from Assam, Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Ladakh, North-Eastern States and GTA (Darjeeling area). The exact figures are in the notification, and the certificate as per Annexure-VI is required.
Tattoo: Allowed only as specified in the notification (religious symbols/names on the left forearm or dorsum of the hands, size less than 1/4 of the part).
5. Who Cannot Apply
The vacancies are not open for physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen.
Candidates involved in, convicted of, or arrested in any criminal case will not be considered.
Fee must be paid online through the ITBPF recruitment website only. Payment by any other mode leads to rejection.
ITBP Constable Sports Quota Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Scrutiny: Online applications and uploaded certificates are scrutinized. Eligible candidates get an online admit card.
Documentation: Verification of identity (including biometrics) and original documents for age, education, caste, sports achievement, etc.
Physical Standard Test (PST): Height, chest (male) and weight are measured. Female candidates submit a pregnancy status self-declaration.
Sports Trial Test: 40 marks, qualifying in nature, with minimum 20 marks. These marks are not counted in the final merit list. Members of the Indian Squad in an International Sports Event (with Department of Sports clearance) are exempted.
Merit List: Prepared on the basis of marks obtained as per the sports qualification table. Ties are resolved by higher national-level achievement, then younger age, then alphabetical order.
Detailed Medical Examination (DME) and, if declared unfit, Review Medical Examination (RME).

ITBP Constable Sports Quota Recruitment 2026: How to Apply, Step by Step
Create your profile on the website and read the instructions carefully.
Upload a copy of the certificate supporting your highest medal/position or highest level of participation in your sport, in your profile, before applying.
Fill out the online application form for the Constable (GD) Sports Quota post, using a genuine e-mail ID and mobile number, as the admit card is issued online.
Pay the application fee online (if applicable).
Submit the application, then take a clear printout of the submitted form. It is required at the Documentation, PST and DME stages, along with passport-size photographs same as those uploaded.
Important Instructions
Offline applications are rejected. Incomplete applications and applications received after the last date are also rejected.
Selected candidates must serve the Force for a minimum of 10 years, and are liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad.
Government employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (Annexure-II) at the Documentation stage.
No TA/DA is paid for travel to the recruitment venue. Candidates should come prepared for a stay of more than one day.
