GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026 Salary (Pay Scale)

• Fixed Pay: Rs. 40,800/- per month for the first five years, as per Finance Department resolutions (along with other admissible benefits under those resolutions).
• On satisfactory completion of five years of service, the candidate will be eligible for regular appointment in the 7th Pay Commission scale of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 (Level-5), subject to the outcome of Supreme Court SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012.

GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 35 years (as on 12/10/2026)

2. Educational Qualification

• A degree in B.Sc. (Nursing) from a University established/incorporated under a Central or State Act (or deemed university), recognized by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council; OR
• A Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from an institution recognized by the Gujarat Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.
• Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed under the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
• Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi (or both).
• Candidates not registered with the Gujarat Nursing Council at the time of applying must get themselves registered under the Gujarat Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitor’s Act, 1968 before appointment.

• Exam Type: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) with negative marking — 1/4th mark deducted for each wrong answer.
• Paper-I (Nursing Subject) can be answered in Gujarati or English; Paper-II (Gujarati Language) must be answered only in Gujarati.
• Minimum qualifying marks: 40% separately in both Paper-I and Paper-II.

• Merit is prepared based on the total marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II combined, after clearing the minimum qualifying standard (40%) in each paper separately.
• After the provisional result, approximately 2 times the number of category-wise vacancies will be called for document verification.
• Final Selection List and Waiting List will be prepared based on merit and category-wise vacancy position after document verification.
• Widow candidates get an additional 5% marks on their exam score for selection priority (subject to not having remarried at the time of appointment).
• Sportsperson candidates who represented at National/International, Inter-University, or All India School Federation level in recognized sports get an additional 5% marks on their exam score.

GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026: How to Apply, Step by Step

1. Visit the official website: https://ojas.gujarat.gov.in
2. If not already registered, complete One Time Registration (OTR) first — only OTR-registered candidates can fill the application form.
3. Click “Online Application”, then “Apply”, and select GSSSB.
4. Click on the name of the cadre for Advertisement No. 458/2026-27, Staff Nurse, Class-3, then click “Apply”. Review “More Details” for the full notification.
5. Click “Apply Now”, enter your Registration Number and Date of Birth, then click “Apply with OTR” to open the Application Format.
6. Fill in “Personal Details” (fields marked with a red asterisk * are mandatory), followed by “Educational Details”.
7. Accept the terms in the “Assurance” section by selecting “Yes”, then click “Save” to generate your Application Number — save it safely.
8. Click “Upload Photograph”, enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, then upload Photo (5 cm × 3.6 cm) and Signature (2.5 cm × 7.5 cm), both in JPG format, not exceeding 15 KB each. Use a recent passport-size photo with a white background and the date the photo was taken (not older than 1 year before the last date of application).
9. Click “Confirm Application” at the top, enter your Application Number and Date of Birth, review your Basic Details, edit if needed, then confirm — no changes are possible after confirmation. Note the “Confirmation Number” generated.

GSSSB Staff Nurse Recruitment 2026 Important Instructions

• Only SSC Certificate (showing Date of Birth) is valid as age proof — no other document will be accepted.
• SEBC candidates must submit the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate strictly in Parishisht-4 (Gujarati) format.
• EWS candidates must submit the Income & Asset Certificate as per the 25/01/2019 resolution, in Annexure-KH (English) or Parishisht-G (Gujarati) format.
• If a candidate submits more than one application, only the last confirmed application (with fee paid, for unreserved category) will be considered valid; fees paid with earlier applications will not be adjusted or refunded.
• Category (caste) details cannot be changed after the application is confirmed — any correction requires submitting a fresh application with correct details before the closing date and paying the fee again for the new Confirmation Number.
• Benchmark Disability candidates with a genuine writing limitation may apply for a Scribe/Compensatory Time facility (20 minutes extra per hour) by emailing the Board (so-kh1-gsssb@gujarat.gov.in) at least 2 days before the exam, along with the required certificates.
• The same photograph used in the application must be used throughout the recruitment process (attendance sheet, document verification, etc.); using different photographs at different stages may affect appointment.
